J. Kenneth Blackwell

J. Kenneth Blackwell is a controversial figure, even in the Republican community. As Ohio Secretary of State, Blackwell became embroiled in a rigging controversy during the 2004 Presidential elections. He was also one of the primary leaders of the anti-gay marriage legislation passed in Ohio. In addition to his life of public service, Blackwell has worked in the private sector. He is on the board of advisors for the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA) and the National Taxpayers Union, is a fellow at the Family Research Council, and is on the advisory board for the Black Alliance for Educational Options (BAEO). In 2004 the American Conservative Union and the Ashbrook Center for Public Affairs awarded Blackwell the John M. Ashbrook Award for “steadfast conservative leadership.”
