Young Americas Foundation (YAF) is a conservative outreach organization that targets high school and college students. According to its website, YAF is committed to ensuring that increasing numbers of young Americans understand and are inspired by the ideas of individual freedom, a strong national defense, free enterprise, and traditional values. It also claims to be the principal outreach organization of the Conservative Movement. YAF was founded in the 1960s at Vanderbilt University (when it was known as University Information Services) and is now based in Herndon, VA.
YAF sponsors guest speakers, such as Ann Coulter, Ben Stein, and Michelle Malkin, at college campuses across the country. The organization also hosts a number of conferences every year, which attract an array of prominent conservative speakers. Past speakers at YAF conferences include former Congressmen Newt Gingrich, Trent Lott, Tom DeLay, and Jack Kemp, among many others. YAF also runs the National Journalism Center, a conservative media training organization. In 1998, the organization purchased former President Ronald Reagans ranch in California.
