While CIRs stance is that it supports Constitutional rights and opposes any encroachment on those rights, CIR has focused its case load on non-minorities and free speech cases that center around political correctness. The Nation reported that in 1999 CIR encouraged non-minority students to sue their universities for discrimination. Additionally, CIR supports the exclusion of gays from the Boy Scouts.
