The Nevada Policy Research Institute is a market-oriented think tank focusing on public challenges facing Nevada, the West and the nation. According to its website, the organizations primary research areas are education and fiscal policy. It was founded in 1991. The Nevada Policy Research Institute publishes a blog, Write On Nevada, on which it has criticized the prospect of government involvement in health care distribution. Former advisor to George W. Bush, Karl Rove, was scheduled to headline the organizations annual dinner in September 2009.
