The National Association of Scholars (NAS) is a membership association of academics based in Princeton, New Jersey. Founded in 1987, NAS seeks to promote intellectual freedom and resist the tyranny of the PC campus in the United States. According to its website, NAS opposes affirmative action in admission, ideological litmus tests for faculty, and what it describes as hollow requirements for graduation. NAS publishes a quarterly journal, Academic Questions. Membership to NAS is available to university faculty and trustees (both past and present), graduate students, and independent scholars. Currently, NAS advisory board members include Hudson Institute president Leslie Linkowsky, Shelby Steele, and E.O. Wilson. It has received significant funding from the Olin, Bradley, Scaife, and Coors foundations.
