The Family Research Council reviews and analyzes data and proposals that impact family law and policy in Congress and the executive branch. FRC also strives to assure that the unique attributes of the family are recognized and respected through the decisions of the courts and regulatory bodies. To further its goals of promoting traditional marriage and family ideals in Congress, the Family Research Council focuses on issues that directly affect families across America--issues such as abortion, stem cell research, cloning, marriage, taxes, parental rights, pornography, homosexual activism, and divorce reform. The FRC encourages individuals to leave homosexuality, and, while it is an issue Family Research Council continues to explore, the FRC provides links to sites claiming that abortion causes breast cancer. The current president is Tony Perkins, who served in the Louisiana State Legislature and holds an honorary doctorate in theology from Liberty University.
