The Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT) is a Washington, DC based organization that promotes a free-market approach to the environment. Founded in 1985, CFACTs stated mission is to enhance the fruitfulness of the earth and all of its inhabitants. The organization gained notoriety in 1986, when it protested peace rallies held in Washington, DC after members of the Great Peace March walked 7,500 miles across the U.S. advocating for an end to the nuclear arms race. As reported by the Washington Post, CFACT greeted the marchers with signs that trumpeted the Reagan administration motto of Peace Through Strength.

However, the groups primary focus is on promoting destructive environmental policies. Led by co-founders Craig Rucker and David Rothbard, CFACT has waged a decades-long war on environmental activism. Over the years, CFACT has blame environmentalists for the Gulf War, blamed Greenthink for Third World poverty, and claimed that it would be easier to believe in the flat-Earth theory than in the threat of a greenhouse catastrophe. In 2009, CFACT hired Mike Morano, a former spokesman for Sen. James Inhofe, to run ClimateDepot.com. According to Morano, the site was designed to offer research and environmental news that questions the theory of man-made global warming. As reported by the New York Times, CFACT has received hundreds of thousands of dollars from the ExxonMobil Foundation and from foundations associated with the billionaire Richard Mellon Scaife, such as the Sarah Scaife Foundation and the Carthage Foundation
