Founded in 1993 by Michelle Easton, the Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute is named after eccentric conservative author, congresswoman and ambassador, Clare Boothe Luce. Its mission is to prepare women for effective leadership and to promote leading conservative women. According to Easton, Radical feminism tells young women they are victims who will be oppressed and discriminated against in Americas patriarchal society. The Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institutetells young women that if they work very hard and focus on personal and professional goals, they will have successful lives. The group mainly works through its various student programs, promoting student activism, leadership training & mentoring and networking opportunities. Easton is a former official in both the Reagan and Bush administrations and was previously appointed by Virginia Governor George Allen to the Virginia Board of Education. In the past, the Institute has honored firebrand conservative author and commentator Ann Coulter with a leadership award for her unfailing dedication to truth, freedom and conservative values and for being an exemplar, in word and deed, of what a true leader is.
