The Center for Education Reform is a Washington, DC-based organization that advocates for an increase in vouchers, charter schools, and other educational reforms. Founded in 1993, CER aims to turn parents into activists, policymakers into advocates, and educators into reform leaders. Led by Jeanne Allen, the Center for Education Reform promotes vouchers, private scholarship programs, charter schools, public school choice, and tuition tax credits. The organization also produces a state-by-state scorecard, which grades states on criteria including spending per pupil, academic achievement, and graduation rates. The Center recently authored a five-part cure for fixing public education titled Mandate for Change: A Bold Agenda for the Incoming Government.
