The Buckeye Institute for Public Policy Solutions is a conservative think tank that promotes individual liberty, economic freedom, personal responsibility and limited government in Ohio. The organization produces research through its policy centers, including the Center for Liberty in Learning, the Center for an Independent Workforce, the Center for Transparent and Accountable Government, the 1851 Center for Constitutional Law, the Center for Public Integrity (not to be confused with the DC-based journalism group of the same name), and the Center for Economic Freedom.
The Buckeye Institute has advocated for the repeal of the state income tax. In 2008, the organization sued the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN) over the groups voter registration practices. The Buckeye Institute has also published The Piglet Book, in conjunction with Citizens Against Government Waste, identifying what they view as wasteful government spending.
