Sen. Hatch Misrepresents Insurance Company-Funded Lewin Group Study

During a floor speech on November 21, 2009, Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) disputed a finding by the Congressional Budget Office by misrepresenting a study by the Lewin Group that claimed 119 million Americans would enter the public health care plan.  The Lewin Group is merely a subsidiary of UnitedHealth, and its studies are buried if their clients don't like the results.

GOP Can't Pick A Number On Cap-And-Trade

In a blog post on May 18, 2009, Rep. Jason Chaffetz said: "The Left obviously does not want taxpayers to know the real cost of the tax-and-trade scheme." However, Republicans have claimed, over the course of five days, that cap-and-trade could cost $1,500, $2,200, $3,000, and $3,100, as opposed to the $150 estimate released by the Environmental Protection Agency.  It would seem that it is those on the Right who don't want people to know the true cost of cap-and-trade.
