Reps. Boehner And McCotter Politicize The Pope
In a bizarre joint statement on July 10, 2009, Reps. John Boehner (R-OH) and Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI) warned colleagues that "Pope Benedict XVI's encyclical, Caritas in Veritate" was being twisted in the political arena. However, the only "politicos" trying to spin the theological document are Boehner and McCotter, who spin, twist, and misinterpret the pontiff's words to suit their own conservative agenda.
