A Tea Partier's Tale

Earlier this week, FreedomWorks president Matt Kibbe told a tale of tea party triumph in an article for the libertarian magazine Reason.  According to Kibbe, the protests - which drew a meager 700,000 people nationwide by his own count - are a reason to "take pity on the left as it grapples with the tea party revolt." But no matter how badly Kibbe wants to believe the American people are on his side, his "facts" just aren't right.

Twisted Steele: More Anti-Worker Distortions

On April 22, 2009, RNC Chairman Michael Steele released a statement decrying President Obama's pro-worker policies.  Without explanation, Steele claimed that Obama and the Democrats "are making it clear" that they aren't on the side of working Americans.  But, like so many times in the past, Steele has his facts twisted: It's the Republicans who oppose policies that are good for workers and good for the economy.
