Republican Jewish Coalition's False Attack On Rep. Sestak Suggests He Sides With Hamas
The Republican Jewish Coalition is out with a new ad attacking Rep. Joe Sestak (D-PA), the highest ranking military officer serving in Congress. The ad accuses Sestak, who signed onto a letter urging President Obama to pressure Israel into stopping its blockade of Gaza, of being anti-Israel. The claim is demonstrably false because even the Israeli government has now conceded that the blockade wasn't working and has since loosened it.

Emergency Committee On Israel's Misleading Attack On Rep. Kilroy
The Emergency Committee on Israel, a group started by the prominent neoconservative and Iraq War propagandist Bill Kristol, is out with an ad attacking Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy (D-OH) for signing a letter supported by the pro-Israel, pro-peace group J-Street, urging President Obama to push Israel towards lifting its siege of Gaza. The ad is dishonest in almost every conceivable way. Crucially, it ignores that fact that prominent human rights groups including Amnesty International and the United Nations have characterized the blockade as collective punishment. Most importantly, though, the ad entirely ignores the fact that in July, Israel eased the blockade to let in consumer goods amid widespread condemnation that it was practicing collective punishment. The group attacks Kilroy for supporting a position that the hawkish Israel government eventually adopted as policy.

Fact Checking The Sunday Shows - June 6, 2010
Sunday on ABC's This Week, National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn defended his candidate for Barack Obama's former Senate seat and argued in favor of Israel's blockade of Gaza. Sen. Cornyn glossed over Senate candidate Mark Kirk's history of exaggerating his Navy career, calling it a "misunderstanding." According to the Texas Republican, Israel would have allowed humanitarian goods into Gaza after inspecting the relief flotilla -- but in reality, Israel is barring a wide variety of humanitarian items from entering Gaza. Meanwhile, on Fox News Sunday, Mississippi governor Haley Barbour complained about media coverage of the Gulf oil disaster and downplayed its severity.
