Wow.  I'm glad this guy isn't my grandfather.  I think that, if this is a real email, this man is vindictively responding to his young and obviously spoiled grandchildren.

Anyways, I've been a little confused about how the new tax policies would affect small businesses so I did some poking around online.  Most small businesses will get tax CUTS and wouldn't have to lay off nice, candy-wielding receptionists.

I found an organization called the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities, and they had this to say -

"Many more small business owners would receive tax cuts than tax increases under President Obama's budget, because the number of small business owners who would benefit from extending the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts for households below $250,000 and the additional tax cuts the budget proposes dwarfs the number who would be affected by allowing the tax cuts at the top to expire."

You can read their report here: http://www.cbpp.org/cms/index.cfm?fa=view&id=2742

Plus, after all the tax deductions and loopholes, 80% of businesses don't pay taxes anyways!  This article, from Congressional Quarterly, has more details: http://public.cq.com/docs/cqt/news110-000002937306.html

And, after the stimulus bill passed, 95% of American families got to take home more money than before.  USA Today said regular families will get at least $65 back from the government every month.  That article is here: http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2009-02-21-obama-saturday_N.htm

I know this tax stuff is complicated, but hopefully this link helps clear it up a little.  Obviously whoever wrote this email doesn't own a small business, otherwise they would have seen that the only change that's taken place so far has not hurt their business.
